Welcome to The Audience Club!
What is The Audience Club?
The Audience Club is a membership based social group, supporting adults with learning difficulties and/or physical disabilities to access and attend theatre, music and dance events in Exeter. Our club enables members to book their tickets, attend events, socialise and enjoy time within the community without their usual care givers.
The club benefits its members by tackling social isolation, increasing cultural exposure and creating opportunities for self-advocacy. Together, we go out, have fun and share opinions and ideas about the wonderful places we have been and the great shows we have seen.
We take ten members and three volunteers to 18 shows a year, including a Christmas Special. At the moment, all the shows are at Exeter Phoenix and Exeter Northcott Theatre. During 2018 we will be expanding to include more venues.
Our project manager is called Amerie.
If you would like to know more contact Amerie by calling 07421 813979 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Amerie works for The Audience Club on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
You can also find out more about us through our Facebook page @theaudienceclub or by following us on Twitter @theaudienceclub
We are recruiting. If this sounds like the kind of club for you please get in touch (see contact details above).
We can help you to gain and build transferable skills in recognising and enabling the independence of adults with disabilities. You also get to see wonderful music, theatre and cinema events for free.
We welcome applicants who are disabled themselves and are a DWP ‘Disability Confident’ employer. We will provide all volunteers with a full induction and will support you to apply for your DBS check.
